List of MLS club post-season droughts

These are lists of active and all-time Major League Soccer (MLS) club post-season series win, MLS Cup Playoffs and MLS Cup droughts up to and including the 2010 MLS Cup Playoffs. Those teams which have never made it in club history are listed by the season that they entered the league, either as a new franchise or when they were promoted from the United Soccer Leagues.

Among the current 18 MLS teams, nine have never won the MLS Cup. Additionally, of the current MLS teams, 12 have never won the MLS Supporters' Shield. Today, the longest MLS Cup title drought is that of the Chicago Fire, who have not won the post-season honor in 13 years, winning the 1998 MLS Cup. The longest Supporters' Shield drought is Sporting Kansas City, who last won the season-title 10 years back, in 2000.

The only club that has yet to win a match in the MLS Cup Playoffs, are the Seattle Sounders, who joined MLS in 2009. The oldest team that has never qualified for the post-season tournament is Toronto FC, whose first MLS campaign was in 2007. Along with Toronto, the Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps have never qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs, although both Portland and Vancouver are in their maiden year of MLS.
